Mason Dixon Band is back in the studio and working hard for our fans!
StopLight Records and Mason Dixon Band will be releasing their new single “Southern State of Mind” in early December. This will be their third release for the label following their most recent release, “Nobody Parties Like Country Boys Do” that has quickly become the anthem of the working-class summer party.
The project included some very notable hired guns to give it that true classic country and southern rock sound.
Tim Lawter, former bass player with the Marshall Tucker Band is the tracking engineer along with Jay Miley, past president of the Nashville Singer and Songwriters Association. Rusty Milner, former lead guitar player for the Marshall Tucker Band is responsible for the final master and mix of the song. The most honorable Ronald Radford, recently inducted into the SC Entertainers Hall of Fame and world-renowned guitar player provides the grungy but classy southern guitar sound on the track.
Roddy Akers provided the lead vocals, while other members of Mason Dixon Band, Jon Padlan, Jerry Ray, Timmy Feltner provided keyboards, background vocals, and harmonica on the record.
